Being a family-run business, we understand the importance of having hard-working, quality people by your side who you can depend on through thick and thin. That’s how First Impression started out as a small brother and sister operation in 1997 and has grown into one of South Africa’s leading printing companies with over 120 employees.

Having a high employee turnover rate is detrimental to a business in a number of ways. It is a costly and time-consuming process to replace employees, it’s disruptive to workflow, drains knowledge and effects team morale. Having management strategies in place that focus on employee retention is key to promoting organisational growth.

Right at the top of our list of Company Values is to act with integrity, honesty, and respect. This applies as much to our dealings with customers as it does to our employee relations. We also have a passion for pushing boundaries and succeeding beyond our goals. It’s therefore a top priority that our company provides a happy and rewarding work environment where our staff feel appreciated and understood and can excel both personally and professionally.

We strive to create a working environment with excellent job satisfaction for our team at First Impression. Having recruited some of South Africa’s top-performing flexographic printers, who are highly skilled and have many years of experience, we know that retaining these top-quality team members is integral to the success of our business. We want to make sure they are happy, satisfied and motivated working at First Impression.

As part of our internal culture, we believe in growing the skills of our existing staff, allowing for their personal development. We also believe in acknowledging team members for their many years of hard work and dedication. At this year’s Long Service Awards, we had six employees reach their 25-year milestone and one even reached her 30-year milestone!
